Cortland

Storage Squad is very excited to announce the proposal of a state-of-the-art storage facility on the empty lot located at 270 Tompkins Street in Cortland, NY. Our facility will not be your typical self-storage facility. We will have stone walls, paved drives, beautiful landscaping, and a perfectly manicured lawn! Our state of the art security system will not allow non-customer access and there will be no area for customers to loiter on site.

Our local business was founded in 2011 by Cornell undergraduate students Nick Huber and Daniel Hagberg. It all began with pickup and delivery student storage which grew to 30 schools in 12 10 states by 2016. Storage Squad has since diversified its service offerings to include self-storage and has a similar facility under construction at 1401 Dryden Road in Freeville, NY. The two, along with Head of Development Jim Huber, love the finger lakes region and are excited to invest in the local community! Learn more about us here here!

Our main consideration while planning this development is the nearby homes to the east of our location and the overall character of the neighborhood. We made every effort to maximize visual appeal with split block walls and beautifully trimmed evergreen trees every 5-7 feet along the entire length of our buildings. Our facility will have very minimal light shining onto either the road or the nearby neighbors property.

The size of the site is 6.28 acres and Storage Squad is proposing 7 storage buildings totaling 44,400 square feet on site. The total climate controlled storage available for customer use will be 20,000 square feet and there will be 19,200 square feet of non climate controlled storage.
